ITHACA, NY — July 2, 2025 — NovaSterilis will participate as both a sponsor and presenter at the 34th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB), taking place September 7–11, 2025, in Turin, Italy. The conference, themed “Biomaterials on the Horizon,” will bring together leading voices in biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and emerging biomedical technologies.

NovaSterilis CEO Tony Eisenhut will deliver a featured session titled Solutions and Opportunities to Improve Clinical Outcomes with Supercritical CO₂ Corporate Partnerships. The presentation explores how strategic collaborations between academia and industry can accelerate the development and commercialization of regenerative medicine solutions.

The session will spotlight a case study in partnership with Dr. Jason Spector of Cornell University, focused on adipose-derived extracellular matrix (ECM) for soft tissue repair. NovaSterilis’ novel supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO₂)  platform decellularizes and sterilizes allograft tissues while preserving essential protein structures and ECM integrity.

Key findings from the collaboration demonstrated:

  • Preservation of tissue structure
  • Effective removal of immunogenic material
  • High post-processing cell viability

These results highlight the scCO₂ platform’s potential to support clinical translation and set products apart in a competitive market.

The session will also examine:

  • The importance of early academic–industry collaboration
  • Merging scientific innovation with manufacturing and regulatory foresight
  • The role of process innovation in market differentiation
  • Commercialization strategies designed with clinical adoption in mind

“NovaSterilis is honored to contribute to ESB 2025’s mission of advancing biomaterials science,” said Eisenhut. “We believe that by combining research excellence with commercialization strategies, we can help bring transformative technologies to patients faster.”

In addition to the presentation, NovaSterilis will exhibit and sponsor during the event.

The European Society for Biomaterials conference will provide a dynamic forum to explore traditional topics like clinical translation and regenerative medicine, as well as emerging areas such as gene and cell therapy, AI in biomaterials research, and sustainability.
